Changes To Medicare Benefits And How It Can Affect Your Coverage

Every year Medicare plans and programs are introduced with yearly flexibilities and reforms which are called as Medicare benefit changes. A common feature of Medicare is constant change. These Medicare benefits and Medicare changes are introduced to offer better coverage and to accommodate legislation cuts. Medicare benefit changes can be seen in the coverage cost, enrollment period, coverage services, deadlines when beneficiaries can make plan changes and coverage options, etc.

A typical example of the program is Medigap. Medicare Part D covers prescription drug costs, but when the beneficiary reaches the initial credit limit before the policy period ends, the beneficiary is responsible to bear the excess cost. This is a coverage gap; to fill this gap Medicare introduced Medigap which enables such beneficiaries to handle excess drug costs. Medicare presents similar constant benefit programs, but if these benefit's change or affect the coverage is still a debate and consequently the future of Medicare is highly dependent on how well these reforms are managed.

How can changes made to the Medicare Benefits affect your coverage?

Although changes are announced to facilitate better services, they end up causing lot of inconvenience. This is because these changes are not made known to the recipients. When recipients try to switch plans to better cope with their medical condition, they are stopped from doing so, due to recent changes made to the deadlines to switch plans. This would affect their coverage and they end up with out-of-pocket payments or co-payments. Private medicare providers do a better job in promoting and creating awareness of current benefit-changes and hence the general public has started to trust them more than the government based Medicare initiatives.

Hassles can be experienced by Medicare beneficiaries when enrollment periods for fresh applicants and sign up dates for supplemental plans are changed without prior notice. Another major hitch is when medicare revises the initial coverage limit in line with legislation cuts. This will directly affect the out of pocket payments. Since Medicare benefits and Medicare changes are announced during any time of the policy period, estimating how it would affect your coverage can be complicated, seek professional help.

Due to these unpredictable changes the future of Medicare is at stake. Hence, while addressing this issue President Obama has expressed concern that the future of the Medicare trust fund would fall below the red mark if precise reformation and rationing is not employed within this decade.

Mostly, the cost per click depends on the total information the topic contains which is already sponsored in search engine listings. Content websites will charge a nominal fee based on the advertisement content, size, and placement. However, they charge more for ad placement in high traffic pages.

Importance and functions of PPC

Any type of business can be promoted through PPC and it allows helps to compete for gaining more online customers and visitors. By using related keywords, PPC will be an effective and fast way to promote sales with a limited budget as you will be paying only for the clicks. In paid online advertising of PPC, the advertisers will either pay per click or set price for each keyword click. Multiply your profits with PPC

It starts with understanding clearly who your target audiences are and analyzing the areas of their interest. You will need to consider the other factors pertaining to your online business such as nationality, gender, age, or group of any like-minded audience. If you do not spend sufficient resource and time to research your target audience, it will drastically reduce your chances of winning booty with PPC campaigns.

The next thing to do is look for popular blogs and websites related to your business. Remember, the cost for placing an ad in any website/blog will be proportional to its popularity. Thus, you need to decide your budget, stay within your limitations, and choose the best options available.

Choose the right keywords and design compelling advertisements. It is important that your online business' website and the landing page are perfect, as this is the juncture where even your potential customer may turn back.

Lastly, keep monitoring the conversion rate, which is the ratio of ad clicks to sales. This is a great practice to tweak your keywords, ads, and landing pages frequently and monitor the response.

Hurricane Survival Skills

Hurricane survival skills are essential knowledge for many people around the world, including the United States. Here in the US, hurricanes are mostly known to strike the states along the Gulf of Mexico, but they can sometimes travel up as far as Maine to the Northeast given the right conditions. Survival skills for hurricanes are a mix of the obvious and some aspects that might not be common sense to many citizens, as they are constantly changing along with technology.

Underground or Overground

Perhaps some of the more obvious skills for hurricane survival are taking cover. If the hurricane is not expected to lead to floods, one should take cover underground, tie down heavy objects, and board up windows. Flying glass leads to most cyclone-related deaths because of its ubiquitous use in modern construction and because the shards are razor sharp. Flower pots and other ceramics should be brought indoors because their shards bear the same ability to cut and stab when flying at high speed.

Hurricane Preparedness

Citizens who plan on waiting out a hurricane should have enough food and water to survive for three days or more. Because electricity is usually cut during hurricanes to prevent fires and explosions, people should be prepared to eat canned or vacuum-sealed foods that will not easily spoil. Bottled water is also essential because the powerful winds of a hurricane may lead to floods that can contaminate municipal water sources. Homeowners should also turn off their natural gas outlets in order to prevent poisonous gas leaks, fires, or explosions.

Communication

Among the less obvious measures that enhance survival during hurricanes are radios and text messaging. Many radios need only batteries to perform and citizens can stay updated on events occurring around them rather than having to rely on electricity-powered computers and televisions. Information can mean life and death in many situations, so sheltering people should stay informed as often as possible about developments occurring around them. Text messaging is a much more efficient way to communicate with the outside world because their frequencies do not clog up cell phone towers in the way that phone calls do. Phones with keyboards are best suited for the practice of text messaging, so citizens should prepare accordingly.

Flooding

Following these suggestions should maximize your ability to survive in a disaster brought about by a hurricane. If flooding is expected, one should abandon their home and drive in-land. There are few measures one can take to survive flooded urban areas due to the contaminated water, destroyed supplies, and lack of shelter.

Dental Discount Plans - The Secret Advantages Over Dental Insurance

In a world replete with uncertainties, one hardly needs to underline the importance of health insurance. Health insurance is an effective tool with which people can shield themselves as well as their family members from any health emergencies. Apart from being a good move to secure a family's health, it is also a sound investment option that can yield rich benefits in the form of good health that lasts a lifetime. However, often dental insurance plans do not get their due share of finances when people plan their insurance needs. Dental care is an extremely important for a person's well beings. Regular visits to the dentists along with regular cleaning of the teeth are a must to keep dental problems at bay. However, despite the pressing needs of proper dental insurance for the maintenance of a good health, many people skip over dental insurance plans due to the high liability involved. Plus, the benefit derived from these plans is often seen to be too less against the high premium costs of these plans. However, a great alternative to these dental insurance plans are dental discount plans. They are not only lighter on the pocket but also offer a myriad of benefits which are usually covered under dental insurance plans.

• Dental discount plans are basically schemes that provide individuals an inexpensive way to provide for themselves and their families premium dental care by paying discounted charges. The providers of these dental plans charge a discounted rate to the beneficiaries of these plans for any kind of services provided by them. All a plan beneficiary has to do to avail these benefits is to show his or her membership card when they go to an approved dental plan provider. These plans are in other words discount plans. Going for these plans enables people to save big time on expensive dental care procedures. Depending upon the discount availed, people end up saving between ten to sixty percent of their expenses. Further, the providers of these plans have many regional as well as national plans on offer with numerous dentists listed as participants.

• Unlike insurance plans, these dental discount plans, offer no yearly limits, enabling individuals to enjoy heavily discounted dental care throughout the year. A great inconvenience caused to people when they file their insurance papers, is the unnecessary paperwork. However, in case of these discount plans, the only document that they need to have to avail the plan's benefits is their membership card, thereby doing away with any tedious paperwork. Most insurance plans do not cover cosmetic surgeries; however selected discount plans also cover cosmetic dentistry along with a wide array of services that includes orthodontics.

• The process of availing the benefits of a suitable discount plan is not a long affair. In fact the plan can be usually activated in the span of merely three days. Due to the comprehensive network of participating dentists, it is easy to find one in the person's native town or city, all by paying a membership charge that is within the reach of almost everyone.

Putting Together a Professional Podcast

One of the things you always want to do if you are hoping to sell learning content is to appear professional. Everything you do has to be polished. Everything you do has to look like you know what you are doing.

That includes your podcasts.

People are used to listening to professional broadcasters on the radio and on television. This is the standard you need to meet when creating your podcasts. Fortunately, with modern computer technology it is quite possible to make your podcasts polished and professional sounding.

Here are seven tips you can use to help put together a professional podcast.

1. Always edit your podcast if only to remove the dead air. No one is 100% perfect. In fact, you don't want to be perfect with your podcasts. However, you also don't want to be focused on getting it right while you are recording. And everyone leaves dead air at some point or other. So use editing to correct your mistakes and don't worry about it during the recording session.

2. Volume isn't as important as having a consistent volume. Notice that when you listen to the radio only the commercials are at a different volume. People sometimes obsess over getting just the right volume level. But that's why the audience has a volume control on their headsets and computers. The one thing that you need to focus on is not perfection but consistency. All your podcasts recording need to be at the same level so that if you patch them together your audience doesn't always have to adjust the volume control.

3. Plan your podcast first. Every once in a while someone will get it into their head that they can just wing it. Don't bother. You'll just be disappointed with the results and have to spend more time recording it and editing it. Planning doesn't necessarily mean writing a full blown script. It can be as simple as listing all the points you want to raise. If you do the outline method aim for one point for every minute to speak (or one minute of talking per point if you prefer).

4. Practice, Practice, Practice. One of the characteristics of a professional podcast is a polished and professional broadcaster. The only way to become polished is to practice. Either that or be born as a naturally talented public speaker. Which isn't very likely.

5. Use music to your advantage. Have you ever wondered why they use music in movies? Have you ever listed to a movie before they've added the music? Listen to a professional radio news magazine. They use music to transition. They use music to introduce. And sometimes they even use music to set the tone.

6. Find a theme. No I'm not talking about a unifying topic to your podcast -- although that's a good idea too. I'm talking about a musical phrase that will be used for all your podcasts -- especially for the opening and closing credits.

7. Always have opening and closing credits. If you listen to a radio news magazine (the BBC and CBC both produce good ones), you'll find they have an opening and closing segment for each podcast. In the opening segment they introduce what segments they will be providing and who is involved. In the closing segment they provide who worked on each segment (recording, producing and editing). You need to do the same thing.

Internet Radio and Other Music Awards

Singers and bands have loyal fans that stick with them through the thick and thin of their music careers. Annual music awards are a time for the fans to vote for their favorite musicians and give praise for their musical talents. Singers and bands not only get recognition and some type of fancy award, but their careers are usually increased in ratings. There are genre specific music awards, general awards, and online awards. Here is a look at an Internet radio awards and some other music awards.

Perhaps the most well known awards for music are the Grammy Awards show. It is an annual award given to musicians that are the best in the business. They receive a golden gramophone statuette that solidifies their place in the entertainment industry and their outstanding achievements. The Grammy Award is presented by the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences. The categories you can win an award for are: best new artist, album of the year, song of the year, and record of the year. These categories are also handed out awards for certain genres.

There are other awards that take place every year that are genre specific. They are less prestigious than the Grammy's but can still boost a musician's career and get just as much hype and audience attention. Other annual awards are the County Music Awards, the MTV Video Music awards, Texas Music Awards, Independent Music Awards, and the Brit Awards for example. These music awards recognize achievements for musicians who make music in their genre such as country, hip hop, or alternative music.

Internet Radio is just as influential as traditional radio for promoting a band or singer. Annually, there are the Internet Radio Awards that are held online. You can vote for your favorite Internet radio station, and they will win an award for best program online. If you have a radio station online you can either nominate yourself or one of your listeners can nominate for an award. It is a great way to see what stations there are around the world and to recognize the hard work that your favorite Internet station does day to day to provide you with great music to listen to.

If you want to discover music from around the world, or nominate an Independent musician for their work, you can vote for them at the International Online Music Awards. They are held every year, and you can vote for your favorite Independent band or singer to win an award. A lot of popular mainstream artists have been discovered by their online music. The Internet is very powerful for boosting someone's career.

How to Create a Squeeze Page - The 5 Core Components of an Excellent Squeeze Page

The sole purpose of a squeeze page or a landing page is to get your visitors to opt-in, which is to provide you with their names and emails in exchange for a free gift that you offer them (e.g. eBook, report, training videos, etc). Subscribers are our assets. That is why it is extremely important to create an excellent squeeze page that is appealing for the visitors to opt-in.

1. Attractive Headline

The first thing your visitor will read is the headline of your squeeze page. Catch their attention using a strong headline that focuses on their need. Let's say you are in the real estate niche, your headline can be something like "Discover How I Acquire 10 Positive Cash Flow Properties in 5 Years - Little or Zero Down Payment!"

2. Bullet Points

Under your attractive headline, briefly describe 5-6 benefits of your free gift in bullet points. The rule of thumb here is to keep it short and simple. For example, "This is what you are about to learn in this eBook:"

· Research for the right properties

· Buy properties below market value

· Manage your tenants

· Increase the market value of your property

· Obtain infinite return on investment

3. Image of Free Gift

So how does your free gift looks like? Make your free gift looks tempting by designing an image for your free gift so that your subscribers can know how your product "looks" like. If you're having trouble with design like I do, I suggest you visit Freelancer to outsource your work to other experts.

4. Video

Video can simply increase your subscription rate by another 10%. A video of you welcoming visitors to your website gives your visitors feeling that they are actually communicating with you rather than just reading your website.

5. Opt-in Form

Opt-in form is where your visitors will key in their name, email address and other information in order to get your free gift. It is extremely important that you only ask for information that you need, typically name and email address. Any additional information you ask will reduce the conversion rate by 50%. Another point to take note is there are two types of opt-in: single and double. Double opt-in requires the subscriber to go to the email they use to subscribe and click on the confirmation link to complete the subscription. You are right! This tedious step is going to reduce your conversion rate.

Can't Get There From Here

Can't Get There From Here

Juneau is the capital of Alaska, but did you know that you cannot drive there from anywhere?

You can fly into Juneau or you can take a ferry to Juneau, but you can't actually drive there. There are no roads into Juneau. Can you imagine not being able to drive to the State Capital in the state where you live?

Normally, a lot of business and a lot of government takes place in a state's Capital. Not having easy access to it would create lots of problems, wouldn't it? Well, not in Alaska.

In fact, up until a few years ago Juneau was two time zones or more away from the rest of the state. A few years ago Alaska had five time zones. Now we have only two time zones and our Capital is now in the same time zone as most of the state.

Governor Frank Murkowski has a transportation plan that would include the building of a 65 mile road from Juneau to Skagway by the year 2010. That would connect Juneau by road to Anchorage, Fairbanks, and much of Alaska.

Of course, you would have to drive through part of Canada to get to Skagway. Not a big deal, since Canada still likes us.

However, many Alaskans are not too thrilled by the idea of building an expensive road to Juneau. According to Skagway business owner, Jan Wrentmore, "It will be as stupid an idea in 2010 as it is now."

Part of the issue is that Skagway and Haines depend on the marine ferry system for business, since Skagway and Haines are the northernmost terminus for tourists who want to disembark the ferry and drive. The fear is that Juneau would become the northernmost stopping point for the ferry if a road is built from Juneau to Skagway.

"We lose our status of what we've had for 100 years," said Jan Wrentmore. "It creates a competing port."

Of course, the rest of Alaska doesn't really care about the competing port issue. The point is that the rest of Alaska doesn't really care about the whole issue. Our legislators at the State Capital seem to get along just fine the way things are currently.

Change comes slowly in Alaska and I would guess that this issue will be talked about for a good many more years to come.

If we talk about it long enough, eventually it will become a mute issue. We won't need a road. Eventually we'll be able to teleport ourselves to the Capital if we wish.

Beam me up Governor.

Disaster Recovery Made Easy With Online Backups

Whenever disaster strikes the most critical asset that every company should have protected from sudden loss due to fire, flooding, or theft is their data. My Take - Victor Cruz: Wide Receiver for the 2012 New York Giants

Last year Victor Cruz emerged from nowhere having a breakout season for the New York Giants in 2011. He became a household name with his speed, agility, and salsa touchdown dances. Cruz is easy to root for. He has charisma and a great smile. However, the 2012 season has been a letdown to say the least.

Last year Cruz had 1,536 yards receiving with 9 touchdowns. He hasn't played nearly as well in 2012. Because he is on the last year of his contract, the entire season Cruz has been in contract discussions with the team. He is due to make 490 k this season. This salary is very low for a high end receiver such as Cruz. Some receivers make as much as $16 million a year.

Cruz has had several games with multiple dropped passes in 2012. I contend that his play has declined for two possible reasons:

1) He is worried about getting injured and hurting his future earnings. I have noticed he hasn't been trying to make the tough catches. He seems to be veering away from hits when the ball is thrown into traffic. I worry that he is more concerned about making a few more dollars than helping his team be successful. If that's the case the Giants don't really need a player like that on the team.

2) The Giants main receiver Hakeem Nicks has been injured all season. He has played sparingly this season. Since Nicks has not been 100 %, Cruz has been getting double coverage by the defenders. I don't think the Giants should pay a player big money if he can't find a way to be productive when the defense focuses on him. He seems to shrink when the defense gets in his face and plays him aggressively. His two worst games this season were against the Dallas Cowboys. In both games Cruz had several drops. What made it worse was that the defensive backs grabbed him and intimidated him to the point that he mentally checked out of the games. Morris Claiborne is a Dallas rookie and absolutely abused him in those contests.

I hope neither is correct about Victor. He has become a fan favorite in New York after his 2011 season. However I must say if either is true about Cruz I would not want him on my team. Since it appears that the contract won't get done til after the season, he had better perform if he wants to make the big bucks.

The Pros and Cons of Using Short Term Strategies In Your Business

There are many ways for which a business can be run and each of these methods come with their pros and downfalls. In particular, there is a choice between using short term strategies or long term strategies for your business. In this article I'll be covering the short term strategies for online marketing and their pros and cons.

I think that whatever strategy someone chooses for their business depends on the business owners' personal circumstances, what they like, how much time they have to invest in their business, and most importantly, how much money they have.

For short term strategies, I find that the results are generated fairly quickly but they can be quite costly. So having a budget or lack thereof, is a strong factor in whether this really is for you.

2 Short Term Strategies You Could Think About Using For Your Business

For those of you who don't know what PPC is, it's Pay Per Click. PPC is a great short term strategy if you are looking for very quick, targeted leads. From experience, I can tell you that how quickly the results come for this method is staggeringly fast.

When I ran a PPC ad on Facebook, for my fan page, I got 30+ new fans overnight. And for my affiliate company, I got 30+ leads!

This might sound awesome and everything... but the bill for my PPC campaign made me freeze up and gasp in horror.

With PPC if you don't watch your ad campaign closely, prepare yourself for one hefty bill that could leave you with a very depleted bank account balance.

How it works is, you set a budget for the day on how much you're willing to spend. Each time a person clicks on your ad, you have to pay a certain cost. For example you set a daily limit of $10 per day, and you pay 30 cents per click. Once the total cost hits $10, your ad stops running for the day and it is reset to run the next day.

So the good? This short term strategy is a very fast way to generate targeted leads for your business. If you know how to convert your leads into sales then this should be a very good strategy for you. The ugly? It could destroy your budget if you don't plan before implementing it.

Next up is solo ads. One of the most popular and rewarding short term strategies out there in my opinion.

A solo ad is when you pay someone, usually a list broker, money for a certain number of clicks on an ad that you want the broker to distribute to their list.

So you write up an advertisement for something you want to promote. For an example lets' say the price for a solo ad is $75 for 250 clicks. Once your ad gets approved by the list broker, your ad will be shown to their list of leads until 250 clicks on your ad is generated. After that it will be withdrawn. Now out of those 250 people who have clicked on your solo ad, a fair number, probably around 100, will be added to your own personal list of leads!

Now that's when the email marketing fun begins!

Running solo ads is a very fast way for you to build your list. In internet network marketing, building a list is one of the most important things you can do for your business. The larger your list, the more chances of getting sales and sign ups.

Another good thing is you get to control how much you spend. There is no chance of you getting over billed like PPC. Usually there is a great range of prices for clicks to choose from. I'd like to say that solo ads are affordable for people who are low on cash, but the cheapest solo ad campaign I've seen is $75 for 250 clicks.

Depending on who you choose to purchase a solo ad from, the results for the number of people added to your list could vary. If you run a solo ad with a list broker who has had a lot of people propose the same ad for a product/service as you, don't expect a lot of added leads to your list.

This is one of those strategies where you get what you pay for. So if you find that the pricing is more than you can afford... well the only thing you can do is try to come up with the cash to pay for it if you think this is for you.

Since most short term strategies are done through upfront payment and billing, the moment you stop paying for them is when your business is stopped dead in its tracks.

Easy to Find Exotic Types of Turtles

If you are going to get a turtle as your pet then you will probably visit a local pet store. The types of turtles that you will find in common pet stores around United States are native ones. This local native types of turtles are recommended for beginner turtle keepers. But, in time, if you have some experience with turtle care you can consider to buy some exotic types of turtles. The problem with exotic turtles is that if they aren't born in captivity then they will hardly adapt. but with proper care having an exotic turtle as your pet is not impossible.

One of the most common types of turtles in the United States pet stores is the Reeves Turtle. It's a small type of turtle that has some kind of rectangular shape. The carapace has a browny colour and the skin is green with yellow stripes. They are originary from Asia. they can be feed with different types of vegetables, worms, fish or turtle food. The turtle care guideline is similar to the sliders turtles.

Two other types of turtles would be Asian Yellow Pond Turtle (Mauremys mutica) and the Asian Leaf Turtle (Cyclemys dentata). They look much alike the Reeve's Turtle regarding size and shape. The coloration is predominated by yellow and brown. Keep in mind that are more therestrial turtles than the sliders and so they need a larger basking and land area. Following the turtle care advice for the Reeve's turtle you should have any problems in growing them.

The African Mud Turtle was recently imported in a large number. These types of turtles, although they are mud turtles, are very much alike the Painted turtles. They have brown carapace with yellow or gray skin. You can try to setups a slider enclousure for them and you shouldn't have any problems.

There are some other types of turtles that can be found in the pet stores but if you are really looking for a special type of exotic turtle than you should contact a reptile seller. There was a time when you could find Snake-neck turtles and Big-headed turtles on the pet stores market and maybe in time they will be imported in larger numbers again. This types of turtles have a really special look that you won't forget. The Snake-neck turtles have a very long neck, almost as long as their carapace.
